Inkjet refills are one of the indispensable materials in our homes and offices. We need them for our projects, visual aids and reports. Inkjet refills feature set of tools, alongside certain amount of ink used to refill ink cartridges. The quality and amount of inkjet refills depend on the design and nature of the cartridges itself. Inkjet refills offer convenient and affordable low-cost alternative to buying new cartridges.

More often than not, ink refills feature a cartridge holder, bottles of ink and needles. Well the exact materials included in the ink refills vary based from the manufacturer and the type of cartridge to be used. Usually, the cartridge holder and needles that are used to withdraw air from cartridge are not included.

The most common refill kits available include bottles of black ink for black refill kits, one bottle of cyan, magenta and yellow for color refills, and one bottle each of photo cyan, photo magenta and photo black for photo-color refill kits, as well as, combinations of all colors for combo color refills.

Using ink refills have its own set of pros and cons. For one thing, you save a lot with ink refills. The average price of ink refill kits ranges from $10-$20, plus they usually make three refills. Compared that to purchasing a new cartridge which may cost to about $25-$30. Moreover, somehow you are also helping save the environment because you are reusing cartridges that may have been otherwise carelessly thrown away.

The downside nonetheless of using ink refills is that you are not assured of its excellent performance. Plus it would be such a difficult feat especially for those not familiar with the process. Refilling cartridges can take 10-15 minutes. Despite too the capacity of ink refills to provide for 4-5 refills, the ink cartridges can only be refilled only once before they are worn out.
